Fans at the upcoming 2007 Super GT International Series at Sepang Circuit next month will have an opportunity to enjoy the actions as close as on the track and thick in the middle of the raging battle.

Called the Circuit Safari, fans would be placed on low-loader buses going around the track while the drivers and their mean race GT500 and GT300 machines go against each other around the twisty 5.543-km track.

“I believed such an experience is unique and only provided in the Super GT races. Of course, we are offering limited number of passes and they are exclusively only for the Main Grandstand ticket holders,” says Azlan Akil, who is Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Advertising and Promotions Manager.

According to Azlan, the Circuit Safari passes would be priced at RM100 each and that SIC would provide a maximum of six buses which would take the track during the free practice session from 11am to 11.45am on the Race Day on June 24.

Slotted as Round 4 of a nine-round 2007 Japan Super GT International Series, the Malaysian Round, which would be held from June 22 to 24, would be competed by 78 drivers in 39 cars of which 16 would be in the GT500 class and the remaining 23 in the GT300 class.

Currently hailed as Japan’s most popular racing series, Super GT pits world class drivers including those with experience competing in the prestigious Formula One World Championship; driving extensively modified renowned sports cars models.

Another package offered for the fans is the popular pitwalkabout passes, which would provide an opportunity for the fans to get close to the cars and drivers as welll as the GT Queens at the pits.

“These popular passes are also priced at RM100 each and again, they are exclusively for the Main Grandstand ticket holders,” said Azlan, adding that the Pit Walkabout and Circuit Safari passes can be purchased via internet at www.malaysiangp.com.my or at the circuit during the event.

“But, again, I would like to stress that these passes are limited; so it’s first come first serve basis,” Azlan added.

Tickets for the 2007 Super GT International Series Malaysia are priced as low as RM30 and fans would also be treated with actions from the Formula V6 Asia, Formula BMW Asia, Formula Renault Challenge and the Asian GT Challenge.
