KUALA LUMPUR: The youngest ever Formula One test driver who recently created history with Formula One team, LOTUS Racing is excited about the 2010 Singtel Singapore Formula One Grand Prix from 24-26 September. 16 year old Nabil Jeffri who conducted a straight line Aerodynamic Test at the Duxford Airfield in United Kingdom earlier this month will be competing in the Formula BMW Pacific Series in support of the Singapore GP.

For the 3rd year running, the unique night race in Singapore marks the 15th round of the 2010 FIA Formula One TM World Championship. The Marina Bay Circuit is expected to draw the most spectators for this season as it had before for the past two years.

Nabil Jeffri who participated in the straight line aerodynamic test for LOTUS Racing as part of his sponsorship in the AirAsia ASEAN Driver Development Program says “Although the Qualifying will happen at night, but it is definitely something different and the most anticipated race of the season. This is also my first time to race on a street circuit in a Single Seater. I’m looking forward to it and it’s going to be an exciting race for all”.

The Rounds 11 and 12 of the Formula BMW Pacific Series will see competitive drivers from team Meritus and E-Rain Racing going against Nabil Jeffri to win the race. During the previous Rounds 7, 8, 9 and 10 at the Guangdong International Circuit in Guangzhou, China, earlier this month, Nabil’s team-mate, Richard Bradley, 19, took two dominant race wins in rounds 7 and 8 while Nabil Jeffri added to his points haul with fourth and fifth places respectively.

Bradley’s Round 9 ended prematurely due to engine problems but he rebounded to take a lights-to-flag victory in Round 10. Nabil Jeffri took 7th place in round 9 but ended early in round 10 after coming together with Junior, Jesse Dixon of Atlantic Racing Team.

“It’s going to be a great race with the Europeans competing this time around. At least 3 Europeans from Euro International will participate here and I hope this time I will qualify better and will aim to finish in the top 5”, says Nabil Jeffri

A talented young driver, Nabil Jeffri is currently ranked 5th overall, 4th in the rookie cup and the best Malaysian rookie to date in the championship standings.

The Formula BMW Pacific Series will continue in October during the WTCC in Japan at the Okayama International Circuit, Japan.
