The Chairman of A1GP Australia Pty Ltd Mr Alan H Evans released the following statement a few hours ago: “The Directors and Officers of A1GP Australia Pty Ltd have been endeavouring over the last several weeks to obtain clarification on the status of A1GP from A1 Holdings the international company which is the commercial rights holder of the A1GP series and also the company which has control of the A1GP Race Cars and the A1GP teams.
A1 Team Malaysia will not be on the grid for the first round of the 2009/2010 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport. A combination of factors has forced the team to make this difficult decision, primarily driven by the unavailability of appropriately experienced drivers and the rumours surrounding the Series’ participation at the event.

Since A1GP World Cup of Motorsport announced the landmark partnership with Ferrari back in 2007, a momentous project began to design, build and test a full field of cars and bring them to the grid for the 2008/09 season. Driver Coach Reflects On Lim A1GP Debut
Aaron Lim, in his debut for A1 Team Malaysia at the A1GP season finale, was handed a huge challenge; racing at the most difficult track of the season at Brands Hatch in the UK.
The fourth season of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport drew to a close today, with A1 Team Malaysia debuting Aaron Lim for the final race weekend at Brands Hatch circuit in Kent, Great Britain. The 2008/09 A1GP series finished with Ireland crowned as champions and A1 Team Malaysia is pleased to take sixth place in the overall standings.
With two rounds remaining in the 2008/09 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport A1 TeamMalaysia is riding high in the standings, not only lying sixth overall, but alsobeating all the other Asia Pacific nations. Eight nations from the region compete in the A1GP Series andalthough New Zealand has traditionally taken top honours in the unofficial AsiaPacific points standings, this season it is Malaysia that has been the team tobeat. However with New Zealand only seven points adrift of Malaysia the fight isset to go to the wire.
A1 Team Malaysia inherited third place in today's Feature race at the VodafoneA1GP, Algarve after a late evening stewards enquiry. The finishing order of therace was originally Switzerland, Ireland, Portugal, Malaysia, however a penaltyfor Ireland dropped the team to fifth place, putting Malaysia in the podiumposition.
A1 Team Malaysia enjoyed a strong showing in the A1GP World Cup of Motorsportsixth round which took place in Portugal this weekend. Fairuz Fauzy representedhis nation and drove well to finish in fourth place in the Feature race havingtaken eighth in the Sprint race this morning. The start of the sprint race produced early excitement with NewZealand and Lebanon tangling followed by Germany and Lebanon clashing. Malaysiacarefully avoided these two incidents and had made up ground to seventh place.The accidents brought out the safety car.

After A1GP’s first visit to Kyalami the Malaysian circuit might have some competition in the popularity stakes. A1 Team Malaysia recently raced for the first time at the historic Kyalami circuit in Johannesburg, South Africa. The team’s drivers, Fairuz Fauzy and Aaron Lim, were two of many drivers to be thrilled by the track and the experience. Both agreed it came a close second to the Malaysian circuit in their list of ‘top ten’ tracks.
